Dr. Lauren Malenke

DVM

Lauren Malenke, DVM, grew up in Vermont. She has always loved animals, especially horses. She worked, rode, and taught lessons on a boarding farm throughout middle and high school. She graduated from Warren Wilson College in Swannanoa, North Carolina, with a Bachelor of Science in biology. She moved to Colorado and worked as a wrangler and ski instructor before attending vet school at Colorado State University. She and her husband, Aaron, managed a dude string and led trail rides into Rocky Mountain National Park while she completed her veterinary degree. She graduated with honors from Colorado State in 2014. Just as she was graduating, Lauren and Aaron purchased the farm with Aaron’s sister and brother-in-law, with the dreams of raising children with lots of family nearby and starting a brewery. Lauren, Aaron, and their three children, Carmella, Oscar, and Felix, now live on the farm at Wooly Pig Farm Brewery, where they raise Dorset-cross sheep and Mangalitsa pigs. They also have a dog (Auggie Doggie), a horse, a mammoth donkey, a llama, and two Maine coon cats. In her spare time, Lauren enjoys trail riding, mountain biking, spending time with friends and family, playing ultimate frisbee, and floating down the river. Lauren began her veterinary career here at the Animal Medical and Surgical Center of Coshocton in 2014, and after exploring other types of practice, is very thankful to be working in her own community to provide quality, caring, and personal veterinary care.
